If you’re planning a small, meaningful wedding in Cheshire, Crewe Registry Office is a lovely option for couples who want something simple, relaxed, and focused on the people who matter most.
Whether you’re planning a no-fuss legal ceremony, a micro-wedding with close family, or pairing your registry office ceremony with a bigger celebration elsewhere, this guide will walk you through what to expect, practical tips, and how to make the most of your photos on the day.
Where is Crewe Registry Office?
Crewe Registry Office is located in Municipal Buildings, Crewe, right in the town centre. It’s easy to reach, well connected by public transport, and ideal if you have guests travelling from different parts of Cheshire, Manchester, or further afield. Though it hasn't got its own car park, there are plenty of choices of where to park within a 10-15 minute walk.
Address for reference: Municipal Buildings, Earle St, Crewe CW1 2BJ
Ceremony Rooms & Guest Numbers
Crewe Registry Office offers three different ceremony rooms depending on what you're looking for and number of guests. Ranging from just a simple room for a 2+2 ceremony (you + two witnesses), then up to 12 guests and lastly up to 50 guests.
Most couples choose Crewe for ceremonies with immediate family and close friends rather than large guest lists.
If you’re dreaming of something bigger later on, many couples use Crewe Registry Office for the legal bit, then plan a celebrant-led ceremony or party elsewhere on another day.
What Is a Ceremony at Crewe Registry Office Like?
A civil ceremony here is:
• Short and efficient, usually around 15–20 minutes
• Led by experienced registrars
• Calm and welcoming without being overly formal
You’ll have options to personalise parts of the ceremony, such as readings or music, within the registry office guidelines. It’s simple, but still meaningful. One of the key things to keep in mind is because there are multiple ceremony rooms you are likely to come across another wedding on your day and pass each other on the way in/out of the building. Although the office does try to scatter the timings, last time I photographed there we saw two other couples with their guests.
Best Spots for Photos Near Crewe Registry Office
While Crewe Registry Office itself is more about the ceremony than epic scenery, there are still good options nearby.
Depending on timing and weather, I often suggest heading off to a local park for photographs as the immediate area surrounding the office isn't the most picturesque + then you can also have some photos with your dog!
Queens Park is only a 5/10 minute drive but it's totally worth it.
If you’re heading to a restaurant, pub, or venue afterwards, we can also plan portraits there instead!
How much does it cost?
As always, the questions of cost - below see the screenshots of pricing directly from the council page, correct as of January 2026. Mayor's Parlour is a 2+2 room, the other two are for larger ceremonies.
